Job Summary: 


A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Director of Patient Care Services (RN) to oversee the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Critical Care Unit (CCU). This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to drive operational excellence, enhance patient-centered care, and lead a dedicated clinical team in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities: 

  • Leading and overseeing the daily operations of the Emergency Department, ICU, and CCU, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

  • Managing and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and patient-centered work environment.

  • Implementing and monitoring clinical protocols, quality improvement measures, and patient safety initiatives.

  • Driving staff development through training, education, and succession planning strategies.

  • Managing department budgets, staffing levels, and operational resources to optimize financial and clinical performance.

  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations, including Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, and state/federal standards.

  • Collaborating with hospital leadership and other departments to enhance operational effectiveness and patient care outcomes

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

  • 5-7 years of clinical experience in Emergency or Critical Care nursing.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in an emergency or critical care setting.

  • Deep understanding of emergency care procedures, critical care protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
